The Pharmaceutics Department at JKKN College of Pharmacy is known for its rich heritage in both tradition and innovation in the development, characterization, and evaluation of diverse dosage forms. It is duly recognized by The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, to offer a Ph.D. program in pharmaceutics, reflecting the department’s commitment to advanced research.

At the forefront of pharmaceutical technology, the Department of Pharmaceutics conducts extensive research in various drug delivery systems. These systems encompass a wide range of dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, liquid orals, microcapsules, nanoparticles, and transdermal systems. The department also focuses on utilizing plant-based biopolymers as excipients for the development of novel delivery systems. Additionally, research endeavors include the exploration of herbal pharmaceuticals and their standardization, as well as the development of dissolution methods for synthetic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and herbal formulations.
