INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE (ICC)
The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 was enacted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, with the primary objective of ensuring secure working environments for women. In accordance with the legislation, J.K.K.NATTRAJA College of Pharmacy has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). The ICC of J.K.K.NATTRAJA College of Pharmacy is not only limited to working women, it also ensures the safety of female students.
KEY OBJECTIVES
To foster inclusive workspaces that uphold women’s entitlement to equal status and opportunities.
To effectively execute the provisions of the Act, thereby safeguarding the realization of women’s rights to gender equality, freedom, dignity, and equality within the workplace.
To make an environment free of gender based discrimination.
To promote an environment that will raise awareness about sexual harassment.
To ensure that complaints related to sexual harassment are addresses in timely manner.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ICC
The ICC is responsible for prohibiting any form of sexual harassment against women and female students within the college premises. It ensures that appropriate measures are in place to prevent such behavior and that a strict code of conduct is adhered to.
To foster a work environment free from sexual harassment, the ICC actively promotes preventive measures. This involves awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions to sensitize all members of the college community about the significance of respectful behavior and gender sensitivity.
In case of an unfortunate event that a complaint of sexual harassment is raised, the ICC serves as the platform for redressal. It conducts thorough and impartial investigations, respecting the principles of natural justice, and subsequently offers recommendations for suitable action to address the issue.
The ICC ensures that complainants and respondents are treated fairly throughout the entire process. It guarantees confidentiality, offers support, and prevents any form of victimization or retaliation.
By implementing the provisions of the Act, the ICC contributes to fostering gender equality and empowering women within the workplace. It aligns with the broader goal of creating an inclusive and diverse work culture.
The ICC operates within a defined timeframe to promptly address complaints, investigate cases, and deliver its findings and recommendations. This ensures that issues are resolved in a timely manner.

ICC’S REDRESSAL MECHANISM
The ICC’s redressal mechanism aims to provide a fair, transparent, and supportive process for addressing complaints of sexual harassment and creating a safe environment for women and girl students.
